Liam's Basketball Tournament
Basketball tournament
On Sunday I did a basketball tournament we vs Westland, Buller and west coast there was a development team, there were four good people in are the team that was Will, Archie, Marko. and Neo, Neo was the best in the team, even he is good he is fair, he passes the ball to everyone, he is also kind and nice to everyone. We vs Westland first, when we played I was on the bench But Neo and Archie were on, Neo got the first lay lap, about five minutes later win were winning by a lot, I forgot what the score was but we won, I got eight-point which was good, we had a break so the group sat down on eating some food when it was the next game against the west coast development squad we beat them easy but they are our friends the score was about 72-6 I think, last we vs Buller, the last basketball tournament they won but we did not have Neo and Marko, but we won against them which was good.

The rules of the world cup 9's
The rules of the world cup 9's
There are only 9 players on the field at once.
There are 9-minute halves and the half time is 2-minutes.
You can do a 40/20 or 20/40.
There is a bonus zone where if you score there you get 5 points instead of 4.
Instead of conversions on the tee, you have to do your conversions by dropkicking the ball.
When you start a half you will kick off a tee but after that, you just kick off by dropkicks.
After you have scored you when you've done the conversion you will kick to the other team instead of receiving the ball.
thank you for reading

Katelyn's reflection
Reflection - Week One - Term 4
Kia ora everyone this is my reflection for week one.
What I have enjoyed this week: I have enjoyed doing athletics because long jump and high jump were soooooooo fun and because I qualified in both of them!!! I am so proud of myself. :) I have also enjoyed playing with my friends because we all made up the game and we try to make it funnier.
What I found difficult: I found maths challenging because it was different and harder than usual and we had ordered fractions. Here is a picture.
What I have learnt this week: I have learnt that some people think the earth is flat but it is not. What shape do you think the earth is. Write your answer down in the comments below. I will comment back and say what the shape of the earth.
What I want to work on next week: I want to work on space and learn how the milky way was created because I like the milky way chocolate.

My Nature Story- Slade
Last year for my ninth birthday me and my dad and his friend went hunting.
We did heaps of river crossings. We went all the way down by Rapahoe. 20
minutes past Rapahoe. And we went up the giant mountain to get a good view
of the stuff and then we had to go all the way back down. We saw some
goats. While we were going for the goats I lost one of my shoes crossing
the river. We stayed the night in the bush in a tent. I liked going out
hunting because it was cool and i got to do heaps of river crossings and i
didn’t have to carry anything. When we went hunting and we stayed over we
woke up in the middle of the night and their was a deer outside our tent.
Then we caught it and I couldn’t go back to sleep so i walked around with
the dog and thought I was going to get lost but the dog found us. It took
us like 12 hours to walk back and we had to walk through this big giant
creek. I touched a plant that was really prickly and it got all over my
legs and was stinging the whole way back. We also caught another goat and I
got to hold its heart. While we were going back we went the wrong way and I
slid down the big mountain and had dirt all over me. And then we left and
went home.
I am going to help the environment by using beeswax wraps and composting.
And by trying to use less plastic. And every week we have made it so all
the classes go out and pick up heaps of rubbish. We then take a photo of it
to show what we have found.

Aaron's Great Pacific Garbage Patch Writing
we have been learning to put information( not too much) into the paragraphs. I enjoyed it because we got to go onto a whole bunch of sights
We are the problem of the great pacific garbage patch (g.p.g.p.) we all use rubbish unless we get it fresh from the fields or wherever you get them. The g.p.g.p is huge and scientists (or people who want to be a part of the cleanup) have been looking at ways to remove the g.p.g.p
Scientists have estimated that in 2050 the weight of plastic in the great pacific garbage patch will weigh more than the amount of fish there are in the world. The great pacific garbage patch weighs more than three statues of liberty and enough plastic to make 50 great pyramids of Giza. If you were to try to pick up the hole pacific garbage patch you would never succeed because there are more people using rubbish and more plastic entering the great pacific garbage patch than the one person picking up estimated one to two hundred pieces per minute, but if it didn't work like that then it would take over 300 years.
The biggest garbage dump is not on land at all, it is actually the Great Pacific garbage patch is as big as 2 Texas. The Great Pacific garbage patch is 10 m deep and lots of fish and marine animals and life.

Zero Waste
zero waste
Today at school we were checking on 'Zero Waste'
We checked the rubbish bins in the classrooms and the staff room
We discovered that Taio Room was not very good at 'Zero Waste'
We took the rubbish out and put it in our classroom.
We divided it into compost, recycling, and rubbish
The compost was put in the compost pocket.
The recycling was put it in the bin.
The Principal's bin was pretty good with Zero Waste
The other rooms, Pepeke, Manu and Awa were pretty good also.
So overall our school did a a pretty good job at Zero Waste.
Our class is the best at Zero Waste.
